200 Athletes Compete in National Judo Team Selection Tournament in Baghlan

Judo athletes from various provinces across the country have entered the field of competition in Baghlan for the national team selection tournament in this sport.

This competition, hosted by Baghlan, involves judo athletes from 14 provinces, with the goal of identifying elite players for the country’s national judo team.

Officials from the Judo Federation have stated that more than 200 athletes, across various weight categories, are participating in this national team selection event, competing over the course of five days for a spot on the national judo team.

In addition to the participation of athletes from 14 provinces, a team of Afghan refugees residing in Iran has also joined the competition.

These competitions, in the senior age category, have been organized by the Afghanistan Judo Federation in collaboration with the Physical Education and Sports Department.

Judo athletes have entered the mat for the national team selection tournament, while previously the federation had held various special competitions for athletes of this sport in the capital and provinces of the country.
