Islamic Development Bank to provide $3 million to combat polio in Afghanistan

The Islamic Development Bank and the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center have signed an agreement worth $3 million to support the fight against polio in Afghanistan and strengthen the country’s health system.

The Islamic Development Bank announced in a statement on Monday, December 1, that the funding has been allocated as part of the “Polio Legacy Challenge” program.

The bank stated that the goal of this financial assistance is to eradicate polio and improve essential health and treatment services in Afghanistan.
