Spin Boldak Prepares to Receive Thousands of Afghans Deported from Pakistan

Officials in Spin Boldak district of Kandahar have announced preparations to receive and assist Afghans deported from Pakistan.

According to them, the Directorate of Refugees and Repatriates has currently set up 13 committees at this crossing to facilitate the return of Afghan migrants.

The directorate emphasized that as the number of returnees rises, their facilities and services are also being expanded.

Abdul Latif Hakimi, head of returnee registration in Spin Boldak district, said: “We have no concerns about the growing number of returnees. Here, nearly 13 committees are working to address refugee issues and provide facilities in areas such as employment, education, shelter, healthcare, and other sectors. We are fully prepared to deliver the necessary services regardless of how much the number of returnees increases.”

The deported Afghans from Pakistan have also called on the Islamic Emirate’s officials for support.

Osama, who recently returned from Karachi through Spin Boldak, said he needs assistance to begin a normal life in the country.

He said: “I returned from Karachi with my family. We have no one here, but we are originally from Kandahar. We ask the government to provide us with the means to live here, because we cannot live anywhere else.”

Azizullah, another returnee, said: “Our request is that land be allocated to us for shelter, employment opportunities be created, and efforts be made to help us integrate into society.”

With the final deadline for Afghan migrants in Pakistan now expired, the pace of their return has intensified.

According to officials, more than 7,000 Afghans, including prisoners, returned to the country through Spin Boldak in just the past week.
