Zabihullah Mujahid: Western Distrust, Pakistan Tensions, Governance Goals

Zabihullah Mujahid said that the reason Western countries have not recognized the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan is that they have not yet abandoned their war‑based policies toward Afghanistan.
The spokesperson of the Islamic Emirate added that Western governments spent twenty years campaigning against the Islamic Emirate, and therefore time is needed for normal engagement.
Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesperson of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, said: “They carried out propaganda against us for twenty years and created a negative mindset. Now, to compensate for their actions and make a 180‑degree change toward normal interaction, they need time.”
On the other hand, Mujahid said regarding recent tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan that the Islamic Emirate has no problems with the Pakistani government and insists on resolving tensions through dialogue.
The spokesperson of the Islamic Emirate said: “We have no problem with Pakistan. They had issues, and we called for these problems to be resolved through dialogue. This problem is not in the interest of any nation.”
Regarding governance in Afghanistan, the Islamic Emirate spokesperson said that the Islamic Emirate guarantees the protection of the people in both this world and the hereafter.
Zabihullah Mujahid said: “The responsibility of governance is to seek the reform of the people in a way that ensures their well‑being in this world and in the hereafter. The government is responsible for protecting people both in this world and from paths that would harm their hereafter.”
Mujahid also expressed hope that challenges in various fields would be resolved in the coming year.
