Mining Firms Launch 36 Projects in Badakhshan

The governor of Badakhshan says that work is currently underway on 36 development projects across the province, implemented by mining companies.
Mohammad Ismail Ghaznawi said at a meeting in Faizabad, attended by local officials and mining company representatives, that these projects will help address many of the problems faced by residents.
The governor said: “I am responsible for Badakhshan and must create facilities for its people. Work on 36 projects is ongoing, and this is a positive development. Some investors also come and ask for development projects, and I am very grateful.”
Helmand Governor Amanuddin Mansour, who also attended the meeting, said that security is ensured across the country and that foreign investors’ interest in Afghanistan has increased, with some already making investments.
Mansour said: “Security is in place and the ground is prepared for investment. We call on all investors to invest in the development of this country.”
Residents of Badakhshan welcomed the projects and called on officials of the Islamic Emirate to implement more such initiatives.
A resident, Ehsanullah Barati, said: “We ask the authorities to implement major projects such as the Pul-e-Soch hydropower dam, which can generate more than 70 megawatts of electricity. People need electricity, and attention should also be given to building the Silk Road, as the price of one man of potatoes has now reached 400 Afghanis.”
Another resident, Mohibullah Sadat, said: “These 36 projects are a good step, but we hope similar projects will also be implemented in districts.”
Local officials in Badakhshan also said that, in addition to these 36 projects, several other major projects funded by the Islamic Emirate have been approved, which will help solve various problems of the province’s residents once implemented.
