Achakzai: Afghans Still Suffering War During Eid and Ramadan

Following the escalation of tensions and clashes between Afghanistan and Pakistan, criticism of Islamabad’s policies and concerns about the humanitarian situation in eastern Afghanistan have increased.

The leader of the Awami National Party in Balochistan, speaking at a gathering, criticized the attacks by Pakistan’s military regime on Afghan territory and said that the country has restricted the movement of thousands of people on both sides of the Hypothetical Durand Line.

He added that Afghans have not been spared from suffering and hardship during Eid or the month of Ramadan, and that for a long time, fatwas have been issued against them under various pretexts.

Asghar Khan Achakzai, leader of the Awami National Party in Balochistan, said: “This war and insecurity did not end during the days of Eid, nor during the month of Ramadan; Afghans continue to suffer from it.”

Meanwhile, the Islamic Relief organization has warned that as a result of the clashes between the Islamic Emirate and Pakistan, thousands of families in eastern Afghanistan have been forced to leave their homes and are in urgent need of food and shelter.

The charity has called for an immediate reduction in tensions and the resumption of a ceasefire between Kabul and Islamabad, emphasizing that the continuation of the conflict will severely worsen the humanitarian situation.

According to the organization’s statistics: “More than 115,000 Afghans near the Hypothetical Durand Line have been displaced from their homes families that are now living in difficult conditions with a lack of basic necessities.”

Moeen Gul Samkani, a political analyst, said: “War has its own principles; however, unfortunately, this conflict between the two opposing sides is not conventional, and harming civilians has become part of its objectives.”

Sediqullah Nusrat, deputy spokesperson for the Ministry of National Defense of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, also said that defense forces targeted and destroyed a military post of Pakistan’s military regime in an area of Dangam district in Kunar province, near the Hypothetical Durand Line.

According to him, this was the same post from which fire had been directed toward Afghanistan, causing harm to civilians.

Yousuf Amin Zazai, a political analyst, said: “It should be clear to Pakistan that even the world’s major powers were unable to achieve their military objectives here.”

This comes as findings show that, as a result of attacks by Pakistan’s military regime over the past nearly forty days, 487 civilians have been killed and hundreds more wounded.
