Maulana Fazlur Rehman: Pakistani Officials ‘Slaves of the US’

Maulana Fazlur Rehman, leader of Pakistan’s Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI), has once again criticized the government for closing trade routes with Afghanistan and India.

He said that while both countries have alternative trade corridors, “Pakistan has shut its own trade routes and is now telling people to reduce oil consumption.”

Fazlur Rehman said that although the government claimed oil tankers had passed through the Strait of Hormuz, there has been no corresponding change in domestic fuel prices.

He called on authorities to clarify the situation, asking: “Have these oil shipments been diverted to another country? And if they have reached Pakistan, why have prices not decreased?”

In another part of his remarks, he accused the government of “serving US interests.”

He said: “Our officials are slaves of the United States, and America has always supported Israel’s massacre in Palestine.”

According to Fazlur Rehman, Pakistan has recently adopted laws similar to those in the United Kingdom, including in areas such as marriage. He said: “Although the British have left, their influence remains, and their legal framework continues to be reflected in policies imposed on the people.”
