Over 1,300 Former Officials Return to Afghanistan, Says Contact Commission

The Commission for Contact with Afghan Personalities reports that since its establishment, 1,315 former government officials and Afghan figures have returned to the country.

Ahmadullah Wasiq, the commission’s spokesperson told : “Our message to those officials and personalities who are still living abroad and have not returned is to take advantage of the general amnesty and come back to the country. Afghanistan is now safe, and opportunities for work and presence are available for all.”

Meanwhile, a leadership meeting of the Commission, chaired by Shahabuddin Delawar, was held focusing on evaluating activities and proposals.

During the meeting, reports on the commission’s recent efforts were presented and discussions were held on future strategies.

Moin Gul Samkanai, a political analyst, stated: “In my opinion, it is good that alongside efforts to bring back officials, the commission should also work on the return of elites and other talented compatriots. This would be a positive change in the commission’s working process.”

The Commission for Contact with Afghan Personalities was established based on a decree by the leader of the Islamic Emirate in Sawr 1401 (Solar Calendar).

The commission is responsible for facilitating the return of political, military, cultural, and civilian figures who left the country following the collapse of the previous Afghan government.
