Bamyan Sees Launch of 32 Production Facilities Since 2021

Officials from the Bamyan Department of Industry and Commerce say that 32 production facilities have begun operations in the province since the Islamic Emirate returned to power.
The facilities operate in carpet weaving, handicrafts, detergent production, and dairy processing and production, helping meet a significant portion of local demand.
According to officials, each facility has created employment opportunities for between 50 and 800 people.
Noorzai Aminzada, head of the Bamyan Department of Industry and Commerce, said: “Between one million and 10 million afghanis have been invested in active facilities that operate in carpet weaving, detergent production, dairy processing, and the production and processing of various food products.”
In addition, since the beginning of the 1405 solar year, operating licenses have been issued to 280 commercial companies, including several production facilities, in Bamyan.
Traders and investors say obtaining these licenses has provided a favorable environment for the growth of their commercial and industrial activities.
“The license issued by the Department of Industry and Commerce is highly credible. With these licenses, we can showcase our locally produced handicrafts at various exhibitions and export them abroad,” said Mohammad Ishaq, a trader in Bamyan.
Some industrialists are calling on the Islamic Emirate to provide greater support and improve access to essential facilities.
“We ask officials to provide more support to industrialists. Production facilities in Bamyan do not have access to electricity, and land has still not been distributed in the industrial park,” said industrialist Hussein Husseini.
Another industrialist, Rajab Ali, said: “We call on relevant government institutions to provide the necessary facilities for private factories and assist us with machinery needed for carpet washing. The most serious challenge here is the shortage of electricity, and we hope the government will address this issue.”
Officials from the Bamyan Department of Industry and Commerce said the process of allocating 1,000 jeribs of land for the construction of an industrial park has been completed to provide facilities for industrialists. The land is expected to be distributed to industrialists and investors in the near future.
