Kabul to Host Afghanistan’s First Int’l Agriculture, Livestock Exhibition

Afghanistan’s first International Agriculture and Livestock Exhibition will be held in Kabul from August 11 to 16.

According to the organizers, in addition to hundreds of domestic companies, traders and businesses from Uzbekistan, Russia, Iran, Türkiye, and India will also participate, showcasing their products, technologies, and services in the fields of agriculture, livestock, and related industries.

Agricultural and livestock products will be displayed in 500 exhibition booths.

Khan Mohammad Forotan, Head of the Afghanistan Chamber of Agricultural and Livestock Production, said: “More than 500 booths have already been reserved, and the participation of Afghanistan’s agricultural sector has been remarkable. Industrial companies have also secured a strong presence at this exhibition.”

Speaking at a press conference, officials from the Ministry of Industry and Commerce described the exhibition as an important step toward promoting agricultural products, expanding exports, attracting investment, and creating direct links between producers and domestic and international markets.

They stressed that providing markets for domestic products plays a vital role in economic growth, increasing farmers’ incomes, and reducing dependence on imports.

Mohammad Yaqub Javid, Head of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce’s Exhibition Directorate, said: “This exhibition provides an excellent opportunity for exchanging experiences, expanding trade cooperation, and encouraging investment in the agriculture and livestock sectors.”

Meanwhile, officials from the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock also emphasized the importance of supporting domestic products, urging citizens and the private sector to back Afghan-made goods in order to boost production, create employment opportunities, and strengthen self-sufficiency in agriculture and livestock.

Abdul Ali Omari, Director of Planning and Coordination at the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock, said: “Conditions have now become more favorable for our people, traders, and farmers than at any time in the past fifty years.”

The six-day exhibition is expected to provide a platform for showcasing Afghanistan’s agricultural potential, exchanging expertise, establishing business partnerships, and signing cooperation agreements between domestic and foreign companies.
