Afghanistan’s International Agriculture Exhibition Draws Large Turnout

The second day of Afghanistan’s first International Agriculture and Livestock Exhibition drew a large turnout of visitors.

At the exhibition, hundreds of domestic and foreign companies have showcased their latest products, machinery, equipment and agricultural technologies.

Alongside private companies, the National Development Corporation is also participating in the event, showcasing its projects in agriculture, irrigation and development.

Nabiullah Arghandiwal, a spokesman for the corporation, said: “At the International Agriculture Exhibition, the National Development Corporation has showcased equipment and machinery produced at its factories. A number of citizens and investors, including domestic and foreign investors, visited the National Development Corporation’s booth and viewed its products.”

Exhibitor Kamgar Nawaz Safi added: “If the Ministry of Commerce can organize exhibitions like this, they will be very effective and beneficial for all farmers and everyone who has invested in the livestock and agriculture sectors.”

Visitors say holding such exhibitions provides a valuable opportunity to learn about domestic products, find new markets and establish direct connections among producers, investors and buyers.

Abdul Saboor, a visitor, said: “We visited this exhibition and saw a wide variety of new products. Most of these products are made in Afghanistan and are of very good quality. Domestic and foreign investors were also present at the exhibition.”

Dawood, another visitor, added: “What caught our attention was that domestic production has nearly reached self-sufficiency in many sectors. Locally produced products and equipment in the poultry and agriculture sectors were also on display.”

Meanwhile, officials from the Chamber of Agriculture and Livestock say the exhibition has been organized to showcase Afghanistan’s agricultural potential, support domestic production and expand trade cooperation.

Omid Haidari, head of international relations at the chamber, said: “Today, we were able to sign major trade agreements between Afghan and foreign traders, which, God willing, can pave the way in the near future for strengthening Afghanistan’s trade and economic transactions with foreign countries.”

The six-day exhibition is being held in Kabul from Asad 20 to 25 by the Chamber of Agriculture and Livestock in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock.
