Agreements Worth Over $200M Signed at Afghanistan Agriculture Exhibition

The five-day Afghanistan International Agriculture and Livestock Exhibition has concluded in Kabul.

The Afghanistan Chamber of Agriculture and Livestock says 74 cooperation agreements worth more than $200 million were signed among participating companies during the exhibition.

Khan Mohammad Froton, head of the Afghanistan Chamber of Agriculture and Livestock, said: “All these agreements are related to Afghanistan’s agricultural products and are aimed at creating export opportunities. God willing, these agreements will bring significant changes to agricultural exports.”

The Professional Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock also spoke at the event about efforts to expand markets for Afghanistan’s agricultural products.

Sadr Azam Osmani called on foreign investors to invest in mechanized agriculture in Afghanistan.

Ahmadullah Zahid, Deputy Minister of Industry and Commerce, speaking at the closing ceremony, said: “In areas where conditions are favorable for producing and processing final products in our country, international organizations should cooperate with Afghanistan to further mechanize the sector.”

Meanwhile, the Afghanistan-Iran Joint Chamber of Commerce described exhibitions between Afghanistan and Iran as important, adding that Iranian and Afghan companies reached significant agreements during the event.

Neda Kargar, a representative of the Afghanistan-Iran Chamber of Commerce, said: “All the Iranian exhibitors I spoke with were satisfied, and we were able to achieve very good results.”

Mujib Rahman, a participant, said: “Holding these exhibitions is very beneficial for us as businesspeople, and we were able to sign agreements with domestic wholesalers and foreign traders.”

The first Afghanistan Agriculture and Livestock Exhibition began on the 20th of the current solar month, showcasing agricultural products and mechanized farming technologies from domestic and foreign companies.
