Interior Ministry: 95% of Islamic Emirate Forces Have Uniforms

The Ministry of Interior says that 95% of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s forces across the country have uniforms, and the distribution process for the remaining forces is ongoing.
According to the ministry, committees have been established in all provinces to monitor the implementation of the process.
Abdul Matin Qani, spokesman for the Ministry of Interior, said: “Approximately 95% of our security forces are equipped with uniforms, and they are required to wear them.”
Meanwhile, citizens consider the wearing of uniforms by security forces important for reducing criminal activity and distinguishing authorized personnel from unauthorized individuals.
Azizullah, a Kabul resident, said: “Uniforms make it possible to distinguish civilians from security personnel. Having uniforms is very important for security forces, and it helps prevent theft and other incidents.”
Sohaib, another Kabul resident, said: “There are all kinds of people in the country, and in the absence of uniforms, the name of the Islamic Emirate’s forces can be misused in various ways.”
But how can uniforms affect the discipline and performance of security forces?
Asadullah Nadim, a military analyst, said: “For security personnel, particularly police, a uniform serves as a form of identification, and police should always have this identification with them.”
Analysts believe that monitoring the use of uniforms is also essential to prevent unauthorized individuals from gaining access to security forces’ uniforms and insignia and misusing them.
The Ministry of Interior had previously also announced that it was monitoring the use of official uniforms by police forces in the capital and provinces.
