Turquoise Mine Identified in Panjshir

Saifuddin Leton, spokesman for the governor of Panjshir, says that a turquoise mine has been identified in the province’s Annaba district.
According to him, a technical team from the Department of Mines and Petroleum has been tasked with surveying, sampling, and examining the amount and quality of the mine’s reserves.
Saifuddin Leton adds that if the reserves are confirmed and the legal procedures are completed, the groundwork for turquoise extraction will be laid.
Currently, emerald, tourmaline, green garnet, and about 17 other types of mines have also been identified in Panjshir.
