Taliban: The people of Panjshir must convince their leaders

The Taliban have called on the people of Panjshir to join the group and convince their leaders that the issue of the province will be resolved peacefully.

Amir Khan Mottaqi, the Taliban’s chief of invitation and guidance, said in an audio message that the group’s talks and efforts with the Panjshir Front to resolve the issue had been fruitless, adding that the militants should be made aware that when they could not do anything with the United States, they could do nothing.

“We have worked hard to resolve the Panjshir issue through dialogue,” he said. Numerous Panjshir scholars met. Negotiations were held with the authorities in Charikar Parwan; Unfortunately, this has not happened yet. “We are still trying to prevent a war and to resolve the Panjshir issue slowly.”

Mottaqi has promised that Taliban officials for Panjshir will be appointed from among the people of the province and that the lives and property of the people will be safe.

Panjshir is the only province the Taliban have not been able to seize.
