Mottaqi called on Islamic countries to reopen their embassies in Kabul

Acting Taliban Foreign Minister Amir Khan Mottaqi called on Islamic countries to reopen their embassies in Kabul at a meeting of OIC member states in Islamabad, Pakistan, yesterday.

“We call on members of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation who have delayed the reopening of their embassies to reopen their offices in Kabul, and we will welcome them as friendly countries,” Mottaqi said.

He added that Afghanistan’s political isolation is not in anyone’s interest, adding that the Islamic Emirate accepts the advice, demands and concerns of Islamic countries in connection with finding a just solution to the Afghan crisis.

On the other hand, in this meeting, the secretary general of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation said that a political solution to the problem of Afghanistan should be sought in order to establish stability in this country.

“According to the Charter of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE)’s Charter emphasizes the unity, solidarity and territorial integrity of Afghanistan and reiterates its support for reconciliation in Afghanistan and hopes that all parties to the “We have had a peaceful dialogue to resolve all issues together.”

At yesterday’s meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), its member states agreed to set up a humanitarian trust fund to address Afghanistan’s economic crisis.
