UNICEF: Two million doses of Covid-19 vaccine reach Kabul

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) says two million doses of the Covid-19 Johnson & Johnson vaccine have reached Kabul.

“We thank our donors for helping us maintain the safety of health workers, teachers and vulnerable groups,” the organization wrote on Twitter today.

According to the agency, this amount of vaccine has been helped by the United States, Austria and Italy.

On the other hand, the Japanese ambassador to Iran has said that his country is helping the Afghan migrants with the Covid-19 vaccine.

During his visit to Khorasan Razavi and the city of Torbat-e-Jam, Kazuo Toshi Ikawa the Japanese Ambassador to Iran, , visited the Afghan-Iran border, as well as the accommodation of Afghan refugees.

“The Japanese government has provided Iran with about 3 million doses of the new vaccine, part of which has been given to Afghan refugees,” he said during this visit about the help of his country in the fight against Covid-19.

He added that given the recent developments in Afghanistan, we will work to develop new and more cooperation to support Afghan refugees.
