Issuance of Turkish visas to Afghans will resume in Kabul and Mazar-e-Sharif

The Turkish Foreign Minister told the acting Taliban Foreign Minister that the process of issuing Turkish visas has started in Kabul and will resume in Mazar-e-Sharif soon.

According to Bakhtar news agency, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoghlu said in a telephone call that the process of issuing Turkish visas has started in Kabul and the consulate in Mazar-e-Sharif, the capital of Balkh province, will resume in March.

The Turkish Foreign Minister also expressed satisfaction with the start of public university courses in Afghanistan and said that by the end of February another 500-700 tons of humanitarian aid will arrive in Afghanistan from Turkey and that the Turkish Red Crescent and other charitable organizations will continue their assistance to Afghanistan.

Following the phone call, Taliban Acting Foreign Minister Maulvi Amir Khan Mottaqi inquired about the condition of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his wife, who had recently been infected with the Corona virus, and wished them well.

While appreciating Turkey’s assistance to Afghanistan, he expressed hope for the expansion of relations between the two countries.
