Human Rights Watch: The world must take action to prevent violations of women’s rights in Afghanistan

Human Rights Watch says the world must do something to prevent violations of women’s rights in Afghanistan.

“Violation of women’s rights in Afghanistan is the latest crisis in the world,” said Heather Barr, head of the women’s section of Human Rights Watch.

“The list of violation of the rights of women and girls by the Taliban is growing and the group is enforcing these laws violently,” she said in the article.

The Taliban has demands from the international community, such as legitimacy, the lifting of sanctions, and financial assistance, which the international community can use as pressure factors on the group, said the head of the women’s section of Human Rights Watch.

Ms. Barr has called on France, Canada, Germany, Mexico, Norway and Sweden, which she says have a foreign policy approach to women, to lead the pressure on the Taliban, and the United States, which has led a 20-year international partnership in Afghanistan must encourage, welcome and support these countries.

He said countries around the world should agree on a roadmap that would convince the Taliban that they could not achieve their goals without comprehensive human rights reforms.
