Heather Barr: The Taliban will not open the gates of girls’ schools anytime soon

The deputy of the Human Rights Watch says that the Taliban will not open the school gates to female students above the 6th grade any time soon.

Heather Barr, the deputy head of Human Rights Watch, wrote in a tweet that the international community should stop waiting for school gates to open to female students above sixth grade and respond to this reality.

He added that the international community should take immediate alternative education options for Afghan girls as soon as possible.

Heather Barr also asked the international community to impose necessary sanctions, including a travel ban, on Taliban leaders.

The closure of girls’ schools to students above the sixth grade by the Taliban in Afghanistan has always attracted the reaction of the international community.

But despite the fact that one year has passed since the Taliban came to power in Afghanistan, this group has resisted the pressure of the international community.
