The work of the Casa 1000 power project in Afghanistan was stopped

Officials of Tajikistan say that due to security problems in Afghanistan, the work of Casa 1000 electricity project has been stopped.
Officials in Tajikistan’s power project have said that the work of the Casa 1000 power project, which was supposed to be completed next year, has been stopped in Afghanistan.
They have expressed their hope that contacts will be established with the Afghan side and ways of implementing this project will be investigated.
However, Bilal Karimi, deputy spokesman of the Taliban, says that security is ensured in Afghanistan, and there is a favorable environment for the implementation of projects in this country, and there are no security problems.
The Casa 1000 electricity project, which was opened in 2016, transfers electricity from Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan to Pakistan from Afghanistan.
The cost of this project, which is estimated at one billion and 17 million dollars, will be paid by the World Bank, the Asian Bank, the Islamic Development Bank and the United States and the United Kingdom.
