UNICEF covers more than 100,000 families with humanitarian aid

The United Nations Children’s Fund has announced that it will cover more than 100,000 families in Afghanistan with humanitarian aid this year.
The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) wrote in a tweet that this international organization plans to support 111,000 families with cash aid this winter.
This institution added that millions of people in Afghanistan are unable to provide for the basic needs of their families and winter also worsens the situation.
Meanwhile, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Aid (OCHA) recently said in a report that the rate of extreme poverty in Afghanistan has increased from 47% to 97% in three years.
According to this report, the poverty rate in Afghanistan has increased from 47% to 70% in 2021, and this rate has reached 97% in 2022.
In this report, decreasing income, rising food prices, drought, unemployment and natural disasters are among the causes of increasing poverty in Afghanistan.
