Officials of Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia discussed the issue of Afghanistan

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan has announced that Ismatullah Irgashev, Uzbekistan’s special representative for Afghanistan affairs, met with the officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia and discussed Afghanistan issues.

The announcement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan states that the meeting focused on providing humanitarian aid and other assistance to Afghanistan.

The ministry added: “The opinion was expressed that without creating a unified position of the international community in relation to the new Afghan authorities, as well as increasing international humanitarian aid, it is impossible to solve the acute socio-economic crisis in this country.”

According to the announcement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, in this meeting, the Saudi side announced its full support for the implementation of the Termez-Mazar-e-Sharif-Kabul-Peshawar railway project and pointed out the importance of revitalizing the socio-economic infrastructure of Afghanistan and the extensive participation of this country in regional integration processes.
