Russia emphasized on strengthening the security of diplomatic missions in Afghanistan

According to Sputnik, Maria Zakharova, the spokeswoman of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, emphasized on strengthening the security of diplomatic missions in Afghanistan and condemned the attack on the Pakistani embassy in Kabul.

The spokesman of the Russian Foreign Ministry said: “We strongly condemn the December 2 attack on the head of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Afghanistan, as a result of which his bodyguard was injured.”

He added: “This incident, like the September suicide attack against the Russian embassy, shows the need for Kabul to make more efforts to deal with the terrorist threat and to create a higher level of security for the diplomatic missions operating in the country.”

According to Ms. Zakharova, her country wants the government of the Taliban to investigate this case and arrest the perpetrators of this attack.

The attack on the Pakistani embassy, which took place on Friday, and as a result of which a security guard of the embassy was wounded, has been claimed by the ISIS terrorist group.

Meanwhile, Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesman of the interim government of the Taliban, said in a tweet yesterday that the forces of this group have arrested the person responsible for shooting at the Pakistani embassy.

He added that the arrested person is a foreign national and a member of the ISIS group, who had carried out this attack in collusion with the rebels.
