Guterres: The Taliban’s decision to ban women’s education and work should be canceled

In response to the suspension of women’s work in internal and external institutions in Afghanistan by the Taliban, the Secretary General of the United Nations has said that this decision should be canceled.
Antonio Guterres, the Secretary General of the United Nations, reacted to the Taliban’s ban on women’s work and wrote in a tweet: “The Taliban’s latest restrictions on the employment and education of women and girls are an unjustifiable violation of human rights and must be abolished.”
He added that actions to exclude and silence women and girls continue to cause great suffering and great defeats for the potential of the Afghan people.
It should be mentioned that during the last two weeks, the Taliban suspended the education of girls in private and public universities in Afghanistan and ordered foreign and domestic institutions in this country not to allow women to work in these institutions.
