The Taliban welcomed the plan to transfer Russian gas to Afghanistan

The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Taliban has welcomed the statements of the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia regarding the transfer of gas from that country to Afghanistan.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the caretaker government of the Taliban has written in a statement that this ministry considers Russia’s announcement to export gas to Afghanistan and South Asia to the benefit of the countries and the region and welcomes it.

The ministry said that the Islamic Emirate deeply believes in strengthening commercial and economic relations with all countries and has already prepared the groundwork for regional connectivity.

It should be mentioned that recently Alexander Novak, the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, said in an interview with TASS news agency that in the long run, Russia can send its natural gas to the markets of Afghanistan and Pakistan.

According to him, it is possible to export gas to Afghanistan and Pakistan using infrastructure projects in Central Asia or through Iran.
