Iranian Foreign Minister: We still do not recognize the Taliban government

Iran’s foreign minister said in a meeting with the Lebanese delegation that his country does not recognize the Taliban government yet, but has established relations with Afghanistan in some cases.

According to IRNA news agency, Iran’s Foreign Minister Amir Abdollahian said in a meeting with political and religious groups in Lebanon that his country has not yet recognized the government of the Taliban.

In this meeting, he emphasized that his country continues to support the people of Afghanistan, and said that Iran condemns the terrorist attack of the ISIS group on the Taliban’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Emphasizing the formation of an inclusive government in Afghanistan, Iran’s foreign minister added: We have not recognized the current ruling body of Afghanistan, but in some cases we communicated with them to reduce the problems of this country.

He also called the exclusion of women from social work in Afghanistan against the principles of Islam.
