Blinken: We did not witness a wave of terrorism originating from Afghanistan

The US Secretary of State says that his country has not witnessed any terrorist activities from Afghanistan.

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken has stated in a speech at the University of Chicago that there has been no increase in the activities of terrorist groups active in Afghanistan.

“At least so far, many of the predictions about some of the worst things that could happen have not come true, and we haven’t seen a wave of terrorism emanating from Afghanistan,” the US secretary of state said.

Mr. Blinken emphasized that the United States has the ability to deal with terrorist groups in Afghanistan, adding: “In fact, we have shown that when terrorists hide there, we can catch them.”

According to the US Secretary of State, the country has also not seen mass migration from Afghanistan.
