Blinken: The world recognizes International Education Day in honor of Afghan women

The US Secretary of State says that the world recognizes International Education Day in honor of Afghan women and girls.

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken tweeted that the world recognizes International Education Day in honor of Afghan women and girls who are systematically denied this human right by the Taliban.

He added: “We are with you and we want equal and unhindered access to quality education for all Afghans.”

Yesterday, Antonio Guterres, the Secretary General of the United Nations also, in a message on the occasion of World Education Day, condemned the Taliban’s ban on girls and women’s education in Afghanistan.

In this message, he asked the Taliban to cancel the measures that prevent people’s access to education.
