The foreign ministers of Russia and Pakistan called for the formation of an inclusive government in Afghanistan

Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari met with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov during his visit to Russia and both sides emphasized the formation of an inclusive government in Afghanistan.

The foreign minister of Pakistan has emphasized in this meeting that his country and Russia are working together in a common goal to establish peace and stability in Afghanistan.

He said: “I fully confirm the words of the Foreign Minister (Lavrov). Whether it is the issue of an inclusive government, whether it is the issue of terrorism or the issue of rights. These are not prerequisites or requests from our side. These are the promises that the interim government of Afghanistan has made with the international community and its people, and I believe that if they fulfill their obligations to their people, it will help us.”

The Russian Foreign Minister also said in this meeting that the establishment of an inclusive government in Afghanistan is not a condition that the international community has adopted, it is a commitment that the Taliban themselves have expressed when they came to power in Afghanistan.

According to him, the international community expects the Taliban to fulfill their commitment, and this, among other things, will be of fundamental importance for the international legal recognition of the government of this group.
