Pakistan: Terrorist threats originating from Afghanistan is the most important issue in the region

Pakistan’s foreign minister says that security and terrorist threats have arisen in Afghanistan is the most important issue in the region, and the international community and the interim government of the Taliban have not shown enough seriousness about this issue.

Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said at the Munich conference that terrorist threats originating from Afghanistan are the most important issue in the region and if the Taliban do not have the will and capacity to deal with terrorist groups active in this country, terrorism will enter other regions beyond Pakistan.

He said: “The concern is that if we and the interim government of Afghanistan do not take these groups seriously and they do not show the will and capacity to confront terrorist groups, these groups will carry out terrorist activities in the region. “We are currently witnessing an increase in terrorist activities in Pakistan since the fall of Kabul, but it will not take long for it to spread to other areas as well.”

The foreign minister of Pakistan added that in this situation, the Taliban do not have the ability to deal with terrorist threats because this group does not have a permanent army, nor an anti-terrorism force, nor a suitable border security force.

It should be noted that recently terrorist activities have increased in some areas of Pakistan and the authorities of that country claim that these activities originate from Afghanistan.
