The United Nations has allocated $250 million in emergency funds to prevent famine in the world

The United Nations announced a $250 million budget to prevent famine in 19 countries and warned of a 25 percent increase in the number of people in need of humanitarian aid worldwide.
“Around the world today, 339 million people are in need of humanitarian assistance, an increase of more than 25 percent since last year,” UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres tweeted on Saturday.
He added that nearly 54 billion dollars are needed to meet the basic needs of 240 million people this year, and it is expected that less than half of this amount will be provided.
The $250 million budget recently allocated by the United Nations Emergency Response Fund will be used to help people in 19 countries, including Afghanistan, Burkina Faso, Haiti, etc.
