India and 5 Central Asian countries emphasized on the formation of an inclusive government in Afghanistan

India and 5 Central Asian countries have emphasized the formation of an inclusive government in Afghanistan in a meeting focused on Afghanistan in Delhi, in which human rights and the rights of all Afghans will be respected.

This meeting about Afghanistan was held in Delhi, the capital of India, and it was attended by representatives of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, as well as country representatives of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the World Food Program of this organization have been present.

In a joint statement, the participants of this meeting pointed out the importance of coordinating the efforts of the international community in solving the situation in Afghanistan and emphasized the need for international consensus for the benefit of the entire region.

The statement also states that the officials exchanged views on the current situation in Afghanistan, including political, security and humanitarian aspects, and also discussed the regional threats of terrorism, extremism, radicalization and drug trafficking and the possibilities of coordinating efforts to deal with these threats.

The participants of this meeting have also emphasized that Afghanistan’s soil should not be used for harboring, training, planning or financing any terrorist acts.

Following this meeting, India has pledged to send 20,000 tons of wheat as humanitarian aid to Afghanistan in partnership with the World Food Program through Chabahar port.
