National Food and medicine Administration: The amount of medicine consumption among Afghan citizens is high compared to other countries

Officials of the National Food and medicine Administration say that the amount of medicine consumption among Afghan citizens is higher compared to other countries, and each citizen spends about one billion dollars annually to buy medicines.
Abdulbari Omar, head of the National Food and medicine Administration, said yesterday (Tuesday) at an exhibition of domestic medicine products held in Kabul that the amount of medicine consumption among Afghan citizens is high and the reason for this is the presence of low-quality medicines in the market.
At the same time, officials in this exhibition say that currently 62 medicine factories are operating in Afghanistan.
It should be mentioned that Zabihullah Mujahid, the Taliban spokesman, recently announced the opening of a medicine production factory in Kandahar province and said that this factory will meet the needs of most citizens in the field of medicine.
He wrote in a tweet that this factory named “Senopharma” produces 5,600,000 tablets, 200,000 capsules and 60,000 bottles of syrup in 8 hours.
According to him, this factory is registered in 84 countries of the world and 71 traders and companies are shareholders of this factory.
