World Health Organization: 33 hospitals in Afghanistan are close to collapse

The World Health Organization has announced that the activities of 33 hospitals in Afghanistan are being stopped due to lack of funds.

In a statement, this organization said that these hospitals provide health services for 9 million Afghans and the Ministry of Public Health has requested help from international relief organizations to provide salaries for the employees of these hospitals.

The World Health Organization added that this organization has a three-year plan to deal with health problems in Afghanistan and 2.4 billion dollars are needed to implement it.

According to this organization, currently the health and nutrition teams have decreased from 513 teams to 453 teams in the course of one month.

The World Health Organization has warned that more than 870,000 children will be severely malnourished if the health budget problem in Afghanistan is not addressed.
