President Ghani spoke by telephone with the President of Turkey
The President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, had a telephone conversation with the President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in the afternoon.
In a telephone conversation, President Ghani thanked Turkey for its support for Afghanistan at the Geneva Conference, saying that Afghanistan and Turkey have friendly and historic relations and that the 100th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries will be celebrated this year.
President Ghani welcomed the bilateral agreement between Afghanistan and Turkey, which will increase trade between the two countries to $ 500 million annually.
In this telephone call, the Presidents of the two countries agreed to hold a tripartite meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Afghanistan, Pakistan and Turkey, as well as a joint conference of Afghan and Turkish scholars, in order to further cooperate in the peace process in the near future.
