Details of the press conference of the presidents of Türkiye and Finland
During this press conference, the President of Türkiye said that she believes that bilateral relations with Finland and cooperation within NATO will continue to be strengthened.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a joint press conference with Finnish President Alexander Stubb, who has traveled to Ankara as part of an official visit, following bilateral and inter-delegation meetings. During this press conference, the President of Türkiye said that he believes that bilateral relations with Finland and cooperation within NATO will continue to be strengthened.
Expressing his satisfaction at hosting the President of Finland on the 100th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations with Finland, Erdoğan announced that he has informed Mr. Staub of Turkey’s expectation from Finland in order to increase its support for the country in the process of its membership in the European Union.
Turkish President also announced that Turkish citizens and the Tatar community living in Finland constitute an important human dimension of our relations. I sincerely believe that our bilateral relations and cooperation within NATO will continue to develop on stronger foundations.
Alexander Stubb, the president of Finland, also stated that relations with Turkey have become closer than ever and said: “Turkey is really a bridge between the West and the East, and in my opinion, Turkey’s role in the multipolar world is more important than ever.”
