Celebrating the 100th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Afghanistan and Turkey
After lunch today, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Afghanistan and Turkey, with the presence of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey in Kabul, cabinet ministers, representatives of the National Assembly, ambassadors and diplomats of Kabul-friendly countries. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey was celebrated in a glorious ceremony at the Foreign Ministry Palace.
The ceremony began with the recitation of verses from the words of God Almighty, the playing of national anthems of both countries and the reading of messages from His Excellency Mohammad Ashraf Ghani and Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Presidents of Afghanistan and Turkey.
Welcoming his Turkish counterpart and the participants, the Foreign Minister spoke about the historical relations between Afghanistan and Turkey and Ankara’s continued and comprehensive support for the Afghan peace process, referring to the cultural, religious and mystical commonalities between the two countries. Rumi was considered a great symbol of the spiritual ties between the people of Afghanistan and Turkey.
