Breshna Company: 60% of the capital’s electricity needs are met

A Breshna Company spokesperson says they have plans in place to prevent further power outages.

“For regular power supply, 55 to 60 percent of electricity has been allocated to residential areas and 60 to 65 percent to factories,” said Breshna Company spokesperson Hamkatullah Maiwandi.
However, a number of residents of the capital are complaining about power outages and are asking the authorities to address these challenges.

“There is no electricity in homes, and companies and factories are also facing a shortage of electricity. We ask the Islamic Emirate to make efforts in this regard, because the more work is done in this regard, the more it will contribute to the progress and development of the country,” said Khalid, a resident of Kabul. Abdul Rauf, another Kabul resident, said: “We have not had electricity for about 20 or 25 years. Everyone knows that Afghanistan’s electricity is in short supply. We have electricity for 4 hours a day.”
According to some experts, energy and its production in the country are needed for the country’s economy to progress.

Shams-ur-Rahman Ahmadzai, an expert on economic issues, said: “If electricity is provided regularly, it can be said that both the economic crisis in the country will end and the unemployment rate will reach zero.”
According to officials, Afghanistan has the capacity to produce 318,000 megawatts of electricity from various sources such as wind, water, sunlight and heat.
