Acting Agriculture Minister Urges Effective Use of Qosh Tepa Canal Land

Ataullah Omari, the Acting Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock, has emphasized the effective utilization of land surrounding the Qosh Tepa Canal in a recent meeting.
During this meeting, which was held to present a plan for the proper use of these lands, Omari stated that after the completion of the canal’s construction, organized industrial, agricultural, and livestock centers should be established around it.
Misbahuddin Mustaeen, spokesperson for the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock, said: “In this meeting, Acting Minister Ataullah Omari discussed the importance of the Qosh Tepa Canal project and the preparation of its implementation plan. He emphasized that the surrounding lands should be used efficiently.”
Some experts consider the Qosh Tepa Canal project crucial for the development and mechanization of agriculture as well as Afghanistan’s economic growth.
Wasim Safi, head of the Executive Board of the Chamber of Agriculture and Livestock, stated: “Projects like the Qosh Tepa Canal will industrialize our agriculture, which is beneficial for the country.”
Abdul Zahoor Madbar, an economic affairs expert, said: “The Qosh Tepa Canal is one of Afghanistan’s key infrastructure projects aimed at water resource management, agricultural expansion, and enhancing food security.”
The Ministries of Agriculture, Finance, Energy and Water, and Urban Development and Housing, along with other relevant institutions, are jointly working on land allocation and the establishment of agricultural and industrial complexes around the Qosh Tepa Canal.
