Islamic Emirate: Some Countries Act Vindictively at UN

The Islamic Emirate, coinciding with recent remarks of Pakistan’s representative at the United Nations, stated that some countries take a vindictive approach toward Afghanistan.
Hamdullah Fitrat, deputy spokesperson of the Islamic Emirate, said that an incorrect image of Afghanistan was presented at the UN Security Council meeting. He asserted that Afghanistan currently has a unified government and security is ensured in the country.
Hamdullah Fitrat added: “Unfortunately, various parties in these meetings adopt a vindictive stance towards Afghanistan and present a false image of the country. The reality is that Afghanistan is a secure country with a unified system, and the entire territory is under the control of the Islamic Emirate.”
This comes as representatives of several countries, including Pakistan, China, and Russia, expressed concerns about the presence of terrorist groups in Afghanistan during the UN Security Council meeting held on Monday night.
Munir Akram, Pakistan’s permanent representative to the UN, stated in the meeting: “We have evidence that the Kabul authorities have not only tolerated but are complicit in the conduct of the TTP’s terrorist cross-border attacks.”
Vasily Nebenzya, Russia’s ambassador to the United Nations, said at the UN Security Council meeting: “Given the continued presence of the ISIS-Khorasan terrorist group in Afghanistan, we remain concerned about the security situation. Despite efforts by the current authorities, the problem of completely eradicating terrorism remains unresolved.”
Some political analysts believe that the Islamic Emirate should engage with the international community so that a representative of the caretaker government can participate in UN meetings.
“The fundamental issue is why the UN Security Council or the United Nations and Afghanistan cannot reach an understanding, why they do not respect each other’s human and civil rights, and move forward based on that. We cannot live without the world, and the world cannot live without us, so why is there no understanding?” said Yousuf Amin Zazai, a political analyst.
Meanwhile, at the UN Security Council meeting, Roza Otunbayeva, the head of the UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) spoke about Afghanistan’s integration with the world, emphasizing that this issue depends on the decision of the Islamic Emirate. Additionally, counterterrorism efforts, the establishment of an inclusive government, and the protection of human rights were among other topics discussed in the meeting.
