Turkish Ambassador: We Strive to Cooperate with Afghan People

Cenk Ünal, the Turkish ambassador in Kabul, stated in a program that Ankara is striving to collaborate with Afghanistan in various sectors.
Ünal mentioned that relations between Afghanistan and Türkiye have always been based on supporting peace and stability in both countries and have a strong historical background.
Speaking about relations with Afghanistan, the Turkish ambassador in Kabul said: “As mentioned, Afghanistan and Türkiye share a strong historical bond, and this relationship has always been built on genuine support for peace, stability, and prosperity in both countries. Our presence here is not limited to an embassy or consulate; we aim to collaborate with the Afghan people in various fields.”
The Turkish ambassador also highlighted the activities of some Turkish institutions in Afghanistan, emphasizing that Türkiye has a more significant presence in Afghanistan than any other country and works closely with the Afghan people.
Cenk Ünal further stated: “The Turkish Maarif Foundation, institutions such as TİKA, Turkish Airlines, trade organizations, and our Red Crescent Foundation are actively operating in Afghanistan. Currently, Türkiye is the country with the largest presence in Afghanistan compared to others.”
Meanwhile, Abdul Basit Haqqani, the head of Kabul education department, expressed hope for further expansion of relations and cooperation between the two countries.
In this regard, he stated: “The brotherhood and strong ties between the Islamic Emirate and Türkiye should be further strengthened.”
Previously, during a meeting with Amir Khan Muttaqi, the acting foreign minister of the Islamic Emirate, the Turkish ambassador in Kabul had also assured his country’s efforts to enhance diplomatic relations between Türkiye and Afghanistan.
