Saudi Arabia Hosts Dozens of Delegates for Talks on Israel-Palestine

At the United Nations, dozens of foreign ministers from around the world gathered under the joint sponsorship of Saudi Arabia and France to emphasize the need for a two-state solution between Israel and Palestine.

The meeting, hosted by Saudi Arabia and France, brought together top diplomats to discuss possible ways to establish two separate states for Israelis and Palestinians.

During the session, Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister urged the United States to play an active role in peace efforts, stressing that the U.S. remains a key player in the Middle East peace process.

Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud stated:“I firmly believe that the presence and engagement of the United States, especially the direct involvement of President Trump, could help end the ongoing crisis in Gaza and lead, in the long term, to a resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.”

The UN Secretary-General also referenced the current critical situation, stating that the meeting must become a real turning point for advancing a two-state solution.

The French Foreign Minister stressed the need to move beyond the war in Gaza and work toward ending the broader conflict between Israel and Palestine, adding that only a political resolution based on two states could address the legitimate aspirations of both sides.

This conference, initially planned under a UN General Assembly resolution, had been postponed following Israel’s June military strike on Iran.

Despite the international focus on achieving a two-state solution, the United States and Israel boycotted the meeting and refused to participate.
