Death Toll from Hunger in Gaza Rising Day by Day

Doctors in Gaza say that signs of malnutrition are clearly visible among patients, the wounded, and children, and the number of deaths caused by hunger is steadily increasing.
Doctors in Gaza report that malnutrition is evident before their eyes: patients, the wounded, and children who cannot resist hunger are losing their lives one after another.
The Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC), the world’s most reliable authority on hunger crises, has announced that for the first time some areas of Gaza have entered the famine phase, warning that the situation is rapidly worsening.
Doctors stress that meat, dairy products, and fruit are unavailable in Gaza, and the people’s only source of protein is legumes.
Mohammad Kouheil, head of the nutrition department at Shifa Hospital, said: “There are no protein sources, only plant-based protein from legumes. Meat and chicken are not available, dairy products are not available, and fruits are also unavailable.”
Shocking images of patients can be seen at Shifa Hospital.
Kerem Akoumeh, a young man with sunken cheeks and skin clinging to his bones, now weighs only 35 kilograms due to food shortages alongside his bullet wounds.
Meanwhile, international aid organizations have warned that one in six children under the age of five in Gaza is suffering from severe malnutrition. They caution that if urgent aid does not arrive, all children in Gaza will face the risk of death from hunger.
