Girls Showcase Artwork at Three-Day Exhibition in Ghazni

A three-day art exhibition organized by two female artists has been held in Ghazni, featuring artworks created by nearly 70 other girls.

The exhibition aims to promote local art, introduce the talents of female artists, and convey artistic messages marking the month of Muharram.

Around 500 artworks, including calligraphy, paintings, handicrafts, and other artistic creations, have been put on display.

One of the organizers, Alia Hussaini, said: “The market for painting is growing day by day. Our goal is to promote this art so that more women become artists.”

Another organizer, Hasni Mohabi, said: “The purpose of this exhibition is to showcase the artwork of Afghan female artists and to convey messages related to the month of Muharram. More than 500 artworks have been displayed at this exhibition.”

Meanwhile, several young female artists whose works are on display have called on the relevant authorities to support them.

They say that holding such exhibitions can help improve girls’ artistic skills and contribute to the development of painting, calligraphy, and other forms of art.

Artist Adela Ali Zada said: “Everyone who appreciates painting wants this art to face no restrictions, and all members of society should be able to closely view the artwork of girls from this region.”

Another artist, Zahra, said: “We hope the government will organize similar exhibitions at the provincial level so that we can participate and display our artworks. We also hope our handmade artistic products will find strong markets across Afghanistan and abroad.”

Officials from the Ghazni Department of Information and Culture described such exhibitions as an important step toward promoting culture. They added that efforts have begun to support local artists and strengthen regional art.

The head of the department, Hamidullah Nisar, said: “The Ghazni Department of Information and Culture plans to organize more exhibitions like this during the current year. The department fully supports art.”

Painting, visual arts, and calligraphy have a long history in Ghazni, and these artworks are currently enjoying a better market than in previous years.
