Airstrike Survivor Calls for UN Probe Into Pakistan Attack

A resident of Samkani district in Paktia province, who lost three members of his family in airstrikes by Pakistan’s military regime, has called on the United Nations and regional countries to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident.
Bismillah Khan, who is currently receiving treatment at the Paktia Regional Hospital and whose more than 30 family members were injured in the attacks, called for justice and an immediate response to Pakistan’s overnight airstrikes.
Bismillah Khan, a resident of Samkani district, said: “How long will this situation continue? It is worse than death. I respectfully ask the honorable minister to give a decisive response. We are also ready to cooperate.”
According to Bismillah Khan’s relatives, more than 35 members of his family were inside the house that was targeted by Pakistan’s military regime last night.
Pacha Khan, Bismillah Khan’s brother, said that three members of their family were martyred and another 32 were injured in the attack.
Pacha Khan said: “This was our private home, purchased with our own money. We had no guests last night, and no armed group was present here. Even the local people who came to help were targeted in the second strike.”
Zaker Jan, a relative of Bismillah Khan, said: “Bismillah Khan was an ordinary civilian. Everything he had came from his own hard work, and he bought this house with his own earnings. Why should he have been targeted? This incident must be investigated.”
In addition to Bismillah Khan’s house, several neighboring residential homes were also damaged in the airstrikes.
Residents of Samkani district in Paktia province have called for an independent investigation into the incident, as well as previous attacks carried out by Pakistan’s military regime inside Afghanistan.
