A delegation of Taliban led by Abbas Stanekzai traveled to Iran

The Taliban’s political office in Qatar has announced that a delegation from the group has traveled to Iran.

Mohammad Naeem, a spokesman for the Taliban’s political office in Qatar, said a delegation led by Mohammad Abbas Stanekzai had traveled to Iran.

He says the delegation is scheduled to discuss bilateral issues with Iranian officials.

Meanwhile, a delegation from Afghanistan yesterday, in which Mohammad Younis Qanuni, a member of the Supreme Council of National Reconciliation, Mohibullah Batash, on behalf of the National Movement, Zahir Vahdat, on behalf of the People’s Unity, Salam Rahimi, Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council of Reconciliation Melli and Karim Khoram and Ershad Ahmadi, on behalf of Hamid Karzai, traveled to Tehran.

Mohammad Naeem said that the Taliban delegation is also scheduled to meet with Afghan figures on Wednesday to discuss the current situation in the country and peace talks.
