Taliban: Talks are underway with the other side to ensure a safe transfer of power

The Taliban have said they will not enter Kabul through war and force and are seeking a safe and peaceful transfer of power.
The Taliban said in a statement today that talks were under way with the other side to securely and peacefully transfer power.
Emphasizing that they have no intention of entering Kabul by force or war, the group said they had ordered their fighters to stop at the gates of Kabul.
The group also stated that all government, civilian and military employees would be pardoned.
Meanwhile, some sources say a delegation is going to Pakistan and later to Qatar to negotiate and find a solution.
The sources said that nothing will happen in Kabul until the results of the talks are known and the agreement between the two sides is finalized.
According to these sources, Abdullah Abdullah, chairman of the Supreme National Reconciliation Council, Hamid Karzai, former president Mohammad Karim Khalili and some other officials are on the board.
The Taliban control 29 provinces now, leaving only Kabul, Panjshir, Nuristan, Kapisa and Parwan provinces under Ashraf Ghani’s government.
