US Senator: If the White House recognizes the Taliban, Americans’ lives will be in danger
Lindsay Graham, a U.S. senator, has said that if the White House recognizes these terrorists (Taliban) , it will put Americans at risk around the world.
“You have to make a decision about the Taliban now,” Graham said in an interview with FoxNews. Do you recognize them as the legitimate government of Afghanistan? If so, you are causing a catastrophe around the world. They are terrorists. “I intend to introduce a law that would make the Taliban a foreign terrorist organization.”
He added: “What would I do if I were you? I was not financing them. I am waiting for the civil war to break out and I am sure it will. And that I was helping people on the other side. I made the life of the Taliban difficult. I looked after them like a hawk, the best I could do. If I saw any sign of an increase in al-Qaeda, I would take action, but I would also isolate the Taliban. “I think the Biden administration is embracing the Taliban and putting Americans around the world at risk.”
The Taliban announced their cabinet a few days ago, but the group’s rule in Afghanistan has not yet been recognized by any country.
