The Taliban expelled 3,000 people from their ranks

The Taliban purge commission says more than 3,000 people have been expelled from the group.

Latifullah Hakimi, head of the Taliban purge commission, told AFP that 3,000 Taliban members had been fired during an evaluation process.

He said that 2,840 of those deported in 14 provinces were involved in drug trafficking, corruption and invasion of privacy, and that some of them were members of the ISIS group, and most of them had been referred to the judiciary.

“The purge of the Taliban will help us to establish a police and army force away from corrupt people in the future,” added the head of the Taliban purge commission.

Hakimi also warned that those who harass people to discredit the Islamic Emirate would be arrested and brought to justice.
